Highlights from December 2006

Greetings again from Barcelona
God is good and we celebrate his goodness. He stretches us and brings us out of distress. He has the power to help and to frustrate what is not His. Definitely, living with Him is not boring! I will try to stick to my title and just list praises and requests.

Praise:
Alpha conference: 55 Spanish attended. 3 Newsmen. We have already got amazing coverage in Catholic and secular news. Three new courses are starting out so far out of this effort: two catholic and one evangelical.

Prayer:

  • A team of three ladies from Misson Hills Church from Denver are coming to help us for 10 days. Pray for protection.
  • We are having our first all-day youth training workshop. All our presenters are teens and this is the first time they do something like this.
  • We are having a retreat for ladies, initially for leaders, but now has grown to others on the 26 to 28 of this month. Pray for God to use our sisters from MHC to renew broken hearts. Some unbelievers are also coming!
  • MinutePraise from the Garrigos (March 4,2007)
    Dear Prayer Partners,
Howdy again! I know these come close one to another but we covet your prayers for an eventful month ahead!!!!!!

    Praise:
As a result of our youth training day in January this has happened:

  • A group of 22 teens decided to attend the conference in London for further training. We were 30 Spaniards over all, the largest international group ever attending.
  • One course has started in Granada (South of Spain) with 7 guests, literally from the street (youth led).
  • One course will be starting in Barcelona on March 15th (youth led).
  • One course has started in a catholic parish in downtown. I do not have exact numbers yet.
  • One course will be staring in our church on March 17th. This is a joint effort of three churches. This will be fully youth lead and it is an answer to prayer for many years and slow work.
  • Many youth leaders are calling me to get information.
  • We have started in a Brethren church in Barcelona. Attendance 44 people. Unchurched were 10. Excellent work. I gave the talk on Jesus, the truth way and life.
  • I got word that a Catholic parish in Tortosa, the town where we have gone several time to visit with the Bishop about 200 miles from Barcelona has a first course running with 80 guests.

    Prayer:

  • Pray for us as we develop all these projects.
  • Pray four our team. They are very enthusiastic and yet for most, this is their first time to evangelize.
  • Pray for many to be trained and used to share their faith.
  • Pray for the many who are listening to the gospel of Jesus for the first time in their lives.

“I will proclaim the name of the Lord. Oh, praise the greatness of our God!.”
