How to Become a Christian
Becoming a Christian means trusting Christ, and as a result of His grace, serving His church, and adopting His cause of furthering love and justice in the world:

Steps to Follow
1. Recognize that our sin has separated us from God, from a life with eternal purpose, and from a healthy relationship with others.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." -Romans 3:23

2. Realize you cannot earn God's forgiveness from sin, nor can you find true fulfillment through your own efforts.
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." -Ephesians 2:8-9

3. Jesus Christ alone can provide forgiveness from eternal punishment for sin. He alone can free us from the present penalty of sin (our selfishness) which damages our relationships with others. He alone can take away our sense of emptiness and give our lives meaning and purpose.
"Jesus said to him, '1 am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.'" -John 14:6

4. Confess, believe, and repent in order to be saved from sin.
"If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved."
-Romans 10:9

"Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord. . ."
-Acts 3:19

5. Follow Jesus by observing His teachings, participating in His church, and furthering His mission.
"If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor." -John 12:26

If you are ready to follow Jesus in this way, then you are in the process of making the greatest decision of your life.
